What can I expect at a SoulCollage® workshop? At a SoulCollage® workshop, we will begin by going over the basics of the process, the dos and donts of participating, and how to make a card. We will have a centering moment of meditation to get in tune with our intuition. Then it’s playtime! Selecting imagery, making cards, whatever feels good. Have some snacks and sips while you collage. At the end, we will finish with another centering moment, honor all the cards that were made, and discuss what you can do with the cards once you take them home. There will also be time for questions and taking home any extra supplies.
What kinds of imagery will be available? As your SoulCollage® Facilitator, part of my prep for a workshop involves preselecting imagery to have available for you. There will be a wide variety of imagery for you to choose from including people, animals, nature, and backgrounds. I love sci-fi and outer space so many images along these themes will be included as well.
Do I need to be an artist to come to a SoulCollage® workshop? No artistic experience is required to create SoulCollage® cards. If you can cut and glue, you can create SoulCollage® cards. The cards that are created are inherently beautiful but don’t feel pressured to create Art.
Do I need to bring anything with me to a SoulCollage® workshop? Everything will be provided for you, but if you would like to bring some preselected imagery with you, you are free to do so. Also, some people like special scissors or other art supplies, you are free to bring these along.
How much time will I have to collage? In a 2-hour workshop, you will have about an hour and 15 minutes to create.
Do I have to share my cards? At the end of each workshop, we do a card-honoring ceremony where we celebrate the cards that came into being that day. You do not have to show your cards or share about them unless you want to. There might not be a time to verbally share our cards in a workshop. I encourage you to journal and scribe from your cards as soon as possible after a workshop, while they feel really fresh.
What if I don’t finish my SoulCollage® cards? If you don’t finish, you can take all the supplies home with you so you can complete your cards at a later time.
How can I use my cards after a workshop? Each participant will be provided with a Stardust Experiment SoulCollage® Starter Guide that provides spreads and prompts for working with cards. You can also check out the Stardust Experiment blog for lots of tips on how to utilize cards. The World of SoulCollage® also has many tips for using cards.
What if I create a card that is difficult/traumatic for me? SoulCollage® is a powerful therapeutic practice and creating cards about difficult things can be healing and beneficial, however, it can also trigger big feelings. If you select imagery that is triggering to you, you can save it in your envelope to take home and create a card in solitude. You can also take a moment to yourself if needed during a workshop. You are empowered to communicate your needs at any time during a workshop to me and I will do my best to accommodate you. SoulCollage® is a powerful tool for looking into these parts of ourselves. I encourage you to seek additional support should your card bring forth an emotional response. Journaling, speaking from the card, role-playing, and using the card in a therapeutic setting can all be beneficial.
What are the benefits of doing SoulCollage® in a group? There is a magic and an energy that comes from doing SoulCollage® in a group. The cards just come from a more magical place when you are working with others who are all creating and diving into the depths of their souls. It is beautiful to see the multitudes that are contained in each one of us and I find the synchronicities that abound in a SoulCollage® group setting to be one of the best parts of the practice.
What if I have questions after the workshop? Feel free to reach out to me at stardustcoyote@gmail.com! I will get back to you within 3 business days. If I don’t know the exact answer, I will point you in the direction of someone who might.
